This year, visitors of the 2014 Casa Cor \u2013 an annual architecture and interior design exhibit, in S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 will find a room specially built in honor of Ayrton
\nSenna\u2019s 20-year legacy. In partnership with the Ayrton Senna Institute, which supplied several memorabilia items, interior designer Leo Di Caprio created a 180 square meter lounge where Senna\u2019s objects can be admired in a quiet, intimate and warm atmosphere that is also daring and poetic.<\/p>\n
Minimal colors, with a preponderance of white, and a palette of soft hues for the furniture enhance the room\u2019s quietness and warmness. Some areas of the lounge feel like an actual home, where one can sit down and admire the pieces, read the print material or watch the video made in honor of the driver\u2019s 20-year legacy.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe project\u2019s main challenge was to incorporate the most striking qualities of Senna\u2019s personality\u201d, explains Lao Di Caprio. Inspired by Ayrton himself, he designed totems with geometric shapes that are daring, balanced and delicate. Manufactured by Augusto Moreno Closets, the totems are finished in white lacquer, except for the one being used as a table where the Ayrton Senna Institute\u2019s print material is displayed.<\/p>\n
The 2014 Casa Cor takes place at the S\u00e3o Paulo Jockey Club – Av. Lineu de Paula Machado, 1.173 – Cid. Jardim – SP – from May 27th to July 20th. Take a look at the selected items from the Ayrton Senna collection that will be on display at the \u201cAyrton Senna\u201d lounge.<\/p>\n
– Trophies from the three Formula One titles won by Ayrton Senna (1988, 1990 and 1991)
\n-Runner-up trophy from the Brazilian Go-Kart Championship \u2013 1977
\n– Trophies from his first F-1 victory, in Portugal (1985), from his pole-position at the Brazilian Grand Prix (1991), and from his victory at the Brazilian Grand Prix (1993)
\n– Helmets: the first one he used to race go-karts \u2013 1973; the one he used at a go-kart benefit \u2013 1993; the one from the Brazilian Grand Prix \u2013 1994
\n– Racing suit worn during the 1986 F-1 season, when he raced for Lotus.
\n– Special commemorative items \u2013 exclusive helmet celebrating 20 years of his legacy, gold-plated statue by artist Wilson Igutie and a limited-edition M\u00f6et-Chandon champagne bottle (also celebrating 20 years of his legacy)
