May 8 is Visual Arts Day (in Brazil), and since Ayrton Senna was an inspiration for a huge number of artists in several areas, we\u2019ve decided to remember a few works of art that were highlighted by the Ayrton Senna Institute for honoring our three-time world champion.<\/p>\n

1 \u2013 Ayrton Senna painting at McLaren<\/b><\/p>\n

Daniel Bota, artist and art director, honored the Brazilian driver by painting a 100 x 160 cm canvas. The painting depicts Senna\u2019s most memorable period in motor sports, when he was a McLaren driver. The artist was welcomed to the Ayrton Senna Institute by Bianca Senna, and his painting was featured in our social media profiles.<\/p>\n

2- Mural in the heart of S\u00e3o Paulo<\/b><\/p>\n

Eduardo Kobra, one of the country\u2019s greatest artists, has created a new landmark in the city of S\u00e3o Paulo. On the corner of two iconic avenues, Paulista and Consola\u00e7\u00e3o, he has painted a 41 x 17.5 m panel depicting Senna\u2019s gaze in vibrant colors. The work of art was concluded before the 2015 Brazilian Grand Prix and sponsored by Audi.<\/p>\n

3- Picture made with jeans scraps<\/b><\/p>\n

People have honored Ayrton Senna in a variety ways, but Ian Berry showed that creativity really knows no bounds when it comes to the three-time F1 world champion. He spent several weeks cutting, stitching and pasting scraps of clothes, using only different shades of jeans, to create the shapes and shadows that give life to the Brazilian driver\u2019s likeness. The British artist\u2019s piece was unveiled at the Ayrton Senna Institute during the celebrations of our idol\u2019s 20-year legacy.<\/p>\n

4- Senna in wax<\/b><\/p>\n

Created by a Britsh studio that has pieces displayed in the most famous Wax Museum in the world, London\u2019s Madame Tussauds, the statue was presented last March to the Ayrton Senna Institute. It\u2019s currently on display at the Petropolis Wax Museum, in Rio de Janeiro.<\/p>\n

5- Metallic sculpture<\/b><\/p>\n

TRUMPF, world leader in metal sheet precision cutting and processing, has gifted a steel statue of Ayrton Senna to the Institute that caries the three-time F1 world champion\u2019s name. With a height of 1,76 m (the same as Senna\u2019s), the steel sculpture was laser-cut by a smart machine. The piece celebrates the fact that Senna would be turning 56 on March 21, 2016.<\/p>\n
