In a gesture that reaffirms the connection between the Principality of Monaco and the legacy of Ayrton Senna, Prince Albert II visited, last Friday (7), the headquarters of Senna Brands— the company that manages the Senna and Senninha brands— and the Ayrton Senna Institute (IAS) in São Paulo, during the same weekend as the São Paulo Formula 1 Grand Prix.

An admirer of the three-time world champion, the monarch was received by the driver’s nephews Bianca Senna, CEO of Senna Brands, Lalalli Senna, and Bruno Senna, as well as the IAS Vice President, Ewerton Fulini. The meeting celebrated the memory of the “King of Monaco,” the title by which Ayrton Senna is recognized thanks to his historic dominance at the Monte Carlo circuit, where he secured six victories—five of them consecutive—delivering performances that became benchmarks in world motorsport. The occasion also reinforced the long-standing ties between the Monaco royal family and the Senna family.

During the visit, Prince Albert II viewed rare pieces from the family’s private collection and learned about the projects developed by the Ayrton Senna Institute to accelerate the quality of public education in Brazil — initiatives that have already supported more than 39 million children and young people across over 3,000 Brazilian municipalities. Visiting Brazil for commitments related to COP 30, the Prince requested the tour to learn more about Senna Brands’ facilities. He also signed an iconic helmet of the driver, highlighting his respect and admiration for the three-time world champion. In addition, the Prince attended a presentation by Lalalli Senna about Senna Tower, the brand’s first real estate project, inspired by the Hero’s Journey and developed by the driver’s niece.

“I am honored to welcome Prince Albert II to our headquarters. It was a historic day for all of us. My uncle had a special relationship with Monaco, and seeing this affection remain alive through the years moves us deeply. This moment represents the respect for the legacy we continue to build — both through the brand’s initiatives and the Institute’s work in education,” says Bianca Senna, the driver’s niece and CEO of Senna Brands.

The relationship between the Senna family and Prince Albert II of Monaco is marked by significant moments. In 2017, the Prince attended the unveiling of an Ayrton Senna monument at the “Fairmont Corner,” alongside Bianca Senna, reinforcing his admiration for the driver’s legacy and strengthening ties with the family.

In 2024, during the Monaco Grand Prix, the Prince hosted Bruno, Bianca, and Lalalli Senna and was taken for a lap around the circuit by Bruno in the McLaren Senna. At the event, Lalalli also presented him with a sculpture from the “Nosso Senna Collection – Champion Edition,” celebrating the connection between Ayrton Senna, the family, and the Principality.

Prince Albert II’s visit reiterates Ayrton Senna’s enduring impact on global motorsport and the strength of a legacy that transcends generations, inspiring fans and drivers for more than three decades.
