Filming in Brazil
The high-budget production and part of the cast have just arrived in Brazil, where filming is taking place in São Paulo and Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro.
Senna, one of Netflix Brazil’s most ambitious and innovative productions, is produced by Gullane. Filming has already taken place in Argentina and Uruguay, and after wrapping up in Brazil, the production will move to the United Kingdom.
Spanning six episodes, Senna will, for the first time, showcase Ayrton Senna’s journey of resilience, challenges, joys, and sorrows, delving into his personality and personal relationships.
The story begins with the start of the three-time Formula 1 World Champion’s motorsport career, when he moved to England to compete in Formula Ford, and will follow through to the tragic accident in Imola, Italy, during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix.
Directed by Vicente Amorim and Julia Rezende, Senna is produced by Gullane in partnership with Senna Brands and the Senna family. Amorim also serves as showrunner.
