1987

Ayrton Senna's 1987 Formula 1 season showed how talented Senna was. He won two races, the Monaco Grand Prix and Detroit Grand Prix, and finished third in the Drivers' Championship, behind Nelson Piquet and Nigel Mansell.

Senna started the season strongly, winning the Monaco Grand Prix for the first time in his career. He was also leading the championship after the first four races. However, he then suffered a string of retirements, including two in a row at the British and German Grands Prix. Senna bounced back to finish on the podium in the next three races, but he could not close the gap to Piquet and Mansell. He eventually finished the season with 57 points, 16 points behind Piquet, and just 4 points behind Mansell. Despite not winning the championship, Senna's 1987 season was still a successful one. He showed his incredible talent on several occasions, and he proved that he was one of the best drivers in the world. Remarkable moments from Senna's 1987 season
● The Brazilian driver set the fastest lap in qualifying for 10 races, including the Monaco Grand Prix, where he set the all-time qualifying lap record.
● Senna led 306 laps during the season, more than any other driver.
● He was involved in several controversial incidents, including a collision with Alain Prost at the Japanese Grand Prix.
Senna's 1987 season was a reminder of his greatness. He was a true champion, and he was one of the most exciting drivers to ever compete in Formula 1.
