1991

The 1991 Formula 1 World Championship witnessed one of the most memorable victories in Ayrton Senna’s career. The pilot excelled in his race at the Brazilian Grand Prix. He gave the Brazilian fans a spectacular show and his first home victory in Formula 1.

After losing all his gears and having to drive only in sixth gear, Ayrton held the wheel with his arms and led McLaren to victory. The crowd applauded their Brazilian idol, recognizing the determination, courage, and perseverance shown by Senna during the race.

Ayrton Senna's victory at Interlagos in 1991 transcended motorsports and became a moment of pure emotion and pride for Brazil.
The epic conquest in Brazil wasn't the only one. That season, the driver won seven times, and his incredible performances made Ayrton Senna the 1991 world champion, 24 points clear of his direct opponent Nigel Mansell, from the Williams team.
